Chilly fishing tournament set for New Brighton area

Ice fishing is a popular Minnesota tradition, especially near New Brighton. Local members of the country’s armed forces have been invited to take to the ice for a day of fishing, and the event is open to everyone who would like to get involved.

Timber Ghost Realty has put its support behind this year’s Holes for Heroes ice fishing tournament, and it will be a day filled family friendly fun, food, and a chance to honor those who have served. Each ticket sold will help to make the experience free for military members, veterans, and their families, and entitle the bearer to use up to two of the fishing holes that will be drilled for the day.

Those who sign up for the activity will be welcome to register for the fishing tournament, and a variety of prizes will be awarded. Stationery printers will be able to prepare award certificates and other items for this sort of occasion that can be presented to the winners along with their prize. The event will be simulcast to troops who are deployed overseas so that they can see their friends and family enjoying their day out on the ice, and anyone who would like to be included is required to register ahead of time.

This day of ice fishing out on Medicine Lake has been organized for February 2. The organizers noted that those who purchase a ticket should consult its website in case of inclement weather or poor ice conditions to ensure it will still be taking place on that date.
