Minneapolis runners can begin their Independence Day celebrations with a four-mile run around and through Boom Island Park. The race is called 4 Mile Red, White and Boom.
Registration tiers one through four are filled. Tier five will cost $60 through June 23, tier six will be $64 from June 24 through 30, and tier seven will be $65 after June 30 up to and including race day.
Swag includes red, white, and blue 2022 finisher medals sporting a 4th Mile Red, White and Boom emblem, and red short-sleeve or women’s tank technical shirts carrying this year’s white Logo Design.
There will also be an option to run a Virtual 4-Mile for those runners unable to attend the in-person races. Swag will be sent to registration address.
Younger kids can choose to run the Pre-K race, while older ones can tackle the half-mile, Sparkler Dash Mile, or the 4-Mile. There will not be a registration fee for these races.
Spectators are welcome and are encouraged to get a some motivational sign or banner printing done to spur on their favorite racers.
Runners can look forward to the race festival cooling zone and post-race festival, with games, treats and grilled food in a county-fair atmosphere.
The run is on July 4 itself, with the event starting at 8:00 am. Awards will go to the top three males and females placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in each of five-year incremental age categories.
