Downtown Minneapolis Street Art Festival will be returning for two days in mid-August.
This will be a celebration of all Forms of street art, as both spray paint and chalk artists that have carefully been selected by a jury will be creating pieces on sidewalks and around the downtown area. This year, the event will have eight spray paint artists and over 20 chalk artists.
Other activities will be mural tours, dance and music performances, food, make-and-take art experiences, and games.
More than 100 indie artisans selected by Jackalope Arts will be selling everything from jewelry, home decor, paper goods and housewares, to photography, arts, and food items. Dance, storytelling, and music performances will be performed on the street.
The Nicollet Chalk Art Festival, The Investors Diversified Service Center 3D Art Installation, live spray painting, and an artists’ craft market will take place on Nicollet Street. Lewiee Blaze will emcee the street concert on the Saturday evening at the corner of Nicollet and 7th.
Four sponsorships levels start with in-kind donations, and go up to $1,500 supporting, $5,000 event, and $10,000 festival. Sponsors will see their company logo on all event printed material including Postcards and arts labels, and will need to get the logo designs to the organizers before the event banner printing gets underway. Volunteers and artist will be wearing event T- shirts with each $10,000 and $50,00 sponsor's Logo Design on the back.
Downtown Minneapolis Street Art Festival will take place August 10 and 11.
