Runners anticipate 2022 Reindeer Run

Many Minneapolis runners are getting in shape to run the 35th annual Reindeer Run coming in early December.

The run will have 5k, 10k, and 15k distances. As has been the tradition, the race start and finish will be at the Lake Harriet Bandshell, and the course will take participants around the lake.

Runners are encouraged to wear their wackiest holiday attire as they get into the spirit of the season. Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Rudolph will be available for photo opportunities.

In-person and virtual runs are available. Live 5k pre-registration is $35.50 until November 11 when it goes up to $39.50; live 10k preregistration is $40.50 until November 11 when it will go up to $45.50; live 15k preregistration is $45.50 and goes up to $49.50, and the Kids Live Run will be free. All virtual runs will cost $43.50. Swag includes powder blue long-sleeved shirts and finisher medals with the Reindeer Run graphic design.

On race day at 7:15 am there will be hot chocolate and coffee available at the race site and participants may drop off toys for Toys for Tots. The live 10k and 15k will start at 7:30 am and the Kids Run Live for children ages two through ten, which is just under half a mile, will begin at 9:10 am. The 5k will follow at 9:30 am, and walkers are to line up at the back.

The 2022 Minneapolis Reindeer Run is scheduled for Saturday, December 10.
