Minneapolis/St. Paul concert hall welcomes seasonal choir

The Minnesota Boychoir will present three performances of its annual Winter concert in a few days, and early in January. This will be its 57th season.

The program will be a combination of seasonal music. The 50-member flagship ensemble Cantable (boys ages 9 to 14) will perform with the Allegro (returning graduates ranging in age from 14 to 19), Cantando (new members ages 9 to 14) and Cantar (boys ages 6 to 9).

The program will offer seasonal favorites like Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town, Christmas Time is Here, and Deck the Halls. The audience will get to join in a singalong of Silent Night. Other offerings will be Angel From the Realms of Glory, which will be sung in both English and Aramaic, and Night of Silence by Daniel Kantor.

Although the performances will be free, donations will be greatly appreciated. Minnesota Boychoir is made possible in part by a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant. Minneapolis businesses and nonprofits like to support programs like this so they can include their donations in the community outreach section of their brochure printing.

The first show will be this Sunday, December 16, beginning at 7:00 pm while the last two will be on January 6, 2019 at 1:00 and 3:30 pm. All performances will be at Landmark Center, 75 W. 5th Street, in downtown St. Paul.
