Runners here in Minneapolis will have to choose between two race options scheduled for the same day. One will be the Halloween Half Marathon and the other will be the Terror Trot.
The Halloween Half Marathon will consist of a half marathon, 10K, and 5K. The course will run along the Mississippi River. All races will be chip timed. Runners will receive finisher medallions and Storm Creek T-Shirts sporting the event’s graphic design. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age group.
Although costumes will not be required, they are encouraged because there will be a costume contest. Individual, couple, and junior winners will receive running shoes from the Running Room.
The other alternative will be the Terror Trot. This will include a 5K run/walk, 10K run, and kids’ race. The course circles Lake Harriet and starts and ends at Lake Harriet Band Shell.
The Halloween Half Marathon will be on Saturday, October 27 starting and ending at Father Hennepin Park. The half marathon and 10K will begin at 8:30 am and the 5K will follow at 8:45 am.
The Terror Trot will also be on the same Saturday with the kids’ race beginning at 8:40 am, the 10K at 9:00 am and the 5K at 9:05 am. The Lake Harriet Band Shell is located in Lake Harriet Park at 4135 West Lake Harriet Parkway.
