Minneapolis goes to Saint Pauls winter carnival

The Twin Cities metro area will be heading to St. Paul when it holds its 124th Saint Paul Winter Carnival in a few weeks.

The 35th annual Securian Financial Winter Run will get rid of the chills as runners compete in the 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon starting at Securian Financial Center at Jackson and Sixth streets. The Half Marathon begins at 9:00 am and the 10K and 5K will begin soon after.

Registration fees will be $60 for the Half Marathon, $55 for the 10K and $50 for the 5K and will go up $5 each on January 11. Proceeds will go to the Saint Paul Festival and Heritage Foundation.

Swag for Minneapolis runners will be long-sleeve pullovers, collector’s Mugs featuring the event Logo Design, a St. Paul Winter Carnival coupon book and button.

Carnival perks such as the Ice Sculpture Garden, Ice Bars, Kids’ Day (Saturday, January 25) , Frozen Family Fun Night (Tuesday, January 28), Minnesota Made Market (Sunday, January 26), and Family Day (Saturday, February 1) will be at Rice Park.
