The Minnesota State Fair is coming in late August.
Along with the horse, cattle, sheep, swine, poultry, rabbits, llamas and pet exhibitions and 4-H livestock competitions, there will be Ag-Hort-Bee where Minnesota apiarists will show their bee keeping skills, along with other competitions for adults.
The Milk Run 5K Race, which begins and ends on the fairgrounds, is expecting over 1,500 runners. Participants will receive tee-shirts sporting this year’s Milk Run graphic design, fair admission, breakfast sandwiches, and malt coupons.
Grandstand shows will include Maranda Lambert, Maren Morris, The Spinners, and The Doobie Brothers. In total, 900 shows and over 100 acts will be free during the 12 days and nights.
Adventure Park, Kidway, and Mighty Midway will feature rides such as the carousel, Great Big Wheel and SkyGlider, and Space Tower.
This year’s new food offerings will include Bison Bites, Blue Raspberry Blitzed, and Buffalo Chicken Doughscuits.
Educational exhibits include Moo, Baa, Goat, and Oink Booths, Alphabet Forest, CHS Miracle of Birth Center and the DIRT Demo Stage. Health Fair 11, Driven to Discover and Eco Experience will demonstrate healthy and sustainable living.
Pre-fair one-day tickets can be purchased online for $13, and adult fair-time admission will be $16, $14 for senior citizens, and $14 for kids from 5 to 12 years old. Kids under four will be free.
This year’s Minnesota State Fair will be August 26 through September 6 at the Fairgrounds, 1265 Snelling Avenue N., St. Paul.
