The Minneapolis Aquatennial is being planned for July.
The fun will begin on Tuesday, July 21 at the Guthrie Theater Parking lot with AquaJam. Skateboarders will compete on new obstacles in the traditional Best Trick Contest. Winners will receive cash prizes. This event will take place from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Loring Park Pre-Parade Family Fun Night on July 22nd from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm will be replete with family-friendly activities such as free tennis lessons and canoe rides. That and booths and food trucks will keep everyone occupied until the parade.
The Life Time Torchlight 5k will begin at the Minneapolis Convention Center Starting at 7:30 pm. The course will go along 2nd Avenue to Boom Island using the West River Parkway. An after-race party will have refreshments and music. Glow-in-the-dark medals and participant shirts featuring the event Logo Design will be part of the swag.
The CenterPoint Energy Torchlight Parade, touted as Minnesota’s largest nighttime parade, will be Wednesday July 22nd from 8:30 pm until 10:30 pm. The route begins at the Minneapolis Convention Center and will go along 2nd Avenue, ending at 3rd Avenue.
Target fireworks will commence at 10:00 pm Saturday, July 25th. Over 10,000 pounds of Zambelli Fireworks will present one of the country’s top fireworks displays. Pre-Fireworks activities will begin at 4:00 pm. Metro by T-Mobile will have a Family Fun Zone, food trucks will be selling their special goodies and there will be live music.
