Inaugural event to brighten holiday season

Glow Holiday Festival will have its first run beginning this week.

The event will be a one-mile drive-through featuring lighted trees, art and icicle installations, over a million bright holiday lights and a gingerbread house.

As vehicles enter the drive-through they will encounter the Grand Opening, a disco dance party and the Charity Flame. Next, they will see the Wagon Wheel Stage, pass by the artists’ installations and view Tinsel Tower. They will proceed by Purple Lane and Glitter Critters, and get a good view of the giant Gingerbread House.

The last few displays will include Arctic Circle, Lil’ Farmstead, Glow Wrap-up, and the State Fair food court. The trip ends at Selfie Plaza where guests can leave their vehicles to take selfies in order to remember their visit.

Minneapolis families may like to take these photos to local Print shops for duplicates that may be included in holiday family newsletters.

Anchor Coffee House, Leimon’s Pizza, Mountain Mikes and Pronto Pups will have items for sale at the fairgrounds concession area. Food must be eaten in vehicles or taken home.

The opening night will be tomorrow, November 19. The festivities will begin 4:30 pm nightly and close at 9:00 pm on Sundays through Thursdays, and at 10:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. The event will last until January 3, 2021.

Glow Holiday Festival is located at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, 1265 Snelling Ave, N. Saint Paul. Entrance will be at Canfield Street and Como Avenue.
