Excel Energy presents annual Fire and Ice Run

One of the most anticipated events in Saint Paul’s Winter Carnival is its Fire and Ice Run, and this year the event will take place toward the end of January.

Minneapolis runners and walkers will be participating in a 5k, 10k, 15k, and 20k. A Kids’ Run has been added this year. Those not into running or walking can buy NoK tickets that will allow them to enjoy the activities at Vulcan’s Snow Park without participating in the runs.

Race ticket holders will get to meet the Carnival’s own Royal Family and Vulcan Krewe. Proceeds from the event will go to the Saint Paul Festival and Heritage Foundation, the organization that produces the Saint Paul Winter Carnival.

Swag will include long-sleeved shirts sporting this year’s event Logo Design for the runners and walkers, and stocking hats for those participating in the Kids’ Run. Other perks will be St. Paul Winter Carnival coupon Books and buttons.

The Kids’ run will begin at 8:45 am and will cost $20, while the 15k (three loops around the Minnesota Fairgrounds and through Vulcan Snow Park) and the 20k (four loops) will begin at 9:00 am and cost $40 each. The 5k (one lap) and the 10k (two laps) will both begin at 9:05 and cost $40 each, also. NoK ticket holders (no loops) will be admitted to the park as of 9:06 am.

Saint Paul Winter Carnival Fire and Ice Run will take place on Sunday, January 29.
