Many Minneapolis walkers and runners wanting to get out and exercise, improve their times, or just support a good cause will be turning out for the Lookin for A Cure Minneapolis 5k coming a few days into June.
The race will raise funds for finding a cure for ocular melanoma, a rare eye cancer affecting around 7,000 people worldwide every year.
In-person registration is $35 until May 24 and $45 thereafter. Virtual registration is $45. Team registration is encouraged.
Some teams already created and looking for more members are Eye Ballers, Ocular MelaNOmore, and Say B-eye, and Fly Beyond OM. Businesses and corporations often use such fundraisers as team building events and provide their groups with colorful T-Shirts sporting their Logo Design.
Swag will include T-shirts sporting the event’s graphic design, finisher medals, commemorative race bibs, food and drink at the finish line, aid stations, free downloadable photos, and an official finisher time.
On race day, registration will begin at 7:00 am with the race starting at 8:00 am. The awards and announcements will be at 10:00 am. Parking will be free, and the lot is right next to the start/finish line.
Lookin’ for a Cure 5k will take place at Bde Maka Ska Lake, 2707 W Lake Street on June 10 from 7:00 am to 11:00 am.
