The Abbott Northwestern's Neuroscience Institute and Allina Health will be organizing a symposium in August at The Lakes Ballroom in Bloomington.
The Neuroscience Nursing Symposium is an educational program where nurses interested in caring for neuroscience patients can learn about important topics related to the field. Lessons at the event include the benefits of virtual reality in rehabilitation, communication tips for talking with people who have aphasia, and the role of DBS in movement disorder treatments. Many speakers will attend the symposium, such as Molly McNaughton and Justin Hanson.
The Abbott Northwestern's Neuroscience Institute provides neurological care to those living in the Twin Cities and Upper Midwest. The organization helps people who have experienced conditions like strokes, epilepsy, and Alzheimer's disease. The facility performs more than 2,000 neurological surgeries each year. Medical groups similar to this can educate people about the conditions they treat by using brochure printing.
The event will be on Monday, August 30th from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Nurses interested in the program must pay $170 to join. Ticket prices will be increased to $200 on August 26th. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided to all symposium attendees. Guests will also be given note sheets and the Wi-Fi password when they sign into the event. The organizers recommend using a personal email to register for the program.
