Seniors in South Portland will soon be doing some taste testing as they join the hunt for the area’s top pizza pie.
Dubbed “Pizza Palooza,” the Senior Center at the South Portland Community Center, 21 Nelson Road has set the activity for mid-August. Tickets are $14 each, and both residents and non-residents may attend, with the event intended for people aged 50 and older.
The attendees will be sampling a variety of pizzas and then voting for their top pick. They will be sourced from local pizzerias, and awards will be presented for the top gluten-free, round, square, and overall recipe. A special seniors’ choice award will also be in the mix. Appetizers, desserts, and an assortment of sides will be served, and everyone can create their own dish at the “make your own pizza” station.
Along with the rest of the fun, participants will each receive a goodie bag full of Promotional Products and other swag. There will be games to play and prize draws along the way.
South Portland seniors are on the guestlist for this pizza party on Friday, August 14th. At the time of writing, its registration system is still open, and it can be accessed through the South Portland Recreation website. The activity will have a runtime of two hours, starting at 11:00 am.
