Gaithersburg and West River are the two new locations for TimberNook, a camp for children that is based on nature and enables them to connect with the outdoors.
The founder and CEO of
TimberNook, Angela Hanscomn, developed this type of camp to address the disconnect between nature and children. At the camp, children have the opportunity to be involved in play that is both self-directed and in the outdoors so they are better able to succeed in school and at home.
She expects that both locations will have a successful future and hopes that the first sessions of the camps will be well-attended. Hanscomm might want to consider using a flyer printing company to create leaflets and other promotional materials that she can send to parents, making them aware of the two new camps.
The director of TimberNook West River is a licensed clinical counselor, Teece Nowell, and the director of TimberNook Central Maryland based in Gaithersburg is a pediatric physical therapist, Christine Force. The two camps will have programs this summer for children between the ages of 4 and 13.
There will be five camps at TimberNook West River, each with its own creative activities, outdoor challenges and distinctive curriculum, while there will be three camps at TimberNook of Central Maryland.
A launch event for interested families will be held at the West River camp on June 26 and at the Gaithersburg camp on July 17.
