Traditional doll show to return to Gaithersburg

One of Gaithersburg’s oldest hobby shows will be returning this December, as the Eastern National Doll Show will be holding its 182nd annual edition.

The show features over 300 tables from 90 exhibitors, featuring a variety of dolls and collectibles. Products on offer includes antique dolls and classy collector’s items, as well as more modern doll brands such as Barbie, in addition to costumes, houses, parts and furniture associated with the dolls. There will also be a number of other antique and traditional toys and games on offer, including teddy bears, toy trains, robots, story Books, holiday gift items and more. Exhibitors include NADDA, The Pink Princess, and Gaithersburg’s own Ladenburger Spielzeugaktion auction house.

This year’s edition of the show will expand on previous instalments with the addition of a lower level, allowing for an additional 100 tables. In addition to sales, visitors can receive appraisals, pose their dolls for photo opportunities, seek out repairs or replacements, and attend meetings of doll clubs and collectors’ societies. Hobby shows like this provide an opportunity to meet with other fans, collectors, and vendors, with attendees often exchanging contact information, Business Cards and collectibles. The UFDC Region Learning Room will provide educational information.

The 2024 Eastern National Doll Show will take place on December 7 and 8 at The Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg.
