The Blue Crab Bolt run starts in Gaithersburg once again this June.
The first in a series of three races, the races in Seneca Creek State Park include a children's fun run, a 5.2K, and a 10.4K.
The trails in the park include a view of the lake and pathways along the streams through the woods. Many trails have a single track that make for a fun challenge for all hikers and runners. The Blue Crab Bolt consists of many of the park's most popular trails.
Registration for the 5K is $40 until May 27, $45 until June 24, and $55 on the day of the race, if tickets are still available. Registration prices for the 10K are $5 more than the 5K prices, while the Kids Race is free.
Children ages 2-11 can participate in the free race. Divided into groups by age, they will run a brief distance and back. All children who take part in the race receive a prize of their choosing in the Treasure Box.
Runners can check in at 6:30 am, and there will be a short overall explanation of the races 10 minutes before they start. Snacks will be available for racers a half hour later. The kids will race at 9:30 am and officials will give out awards and Promotional Products from race sponsors 15 minutes later.
The Seneca Falls Blue Crab Bolt is on June 27 starting at 8:00 am.
