Sodexo works with youth against child hunger

No Kid Hunger and Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation, the nonprofit charitable branch of Sodexo, headquartered in Gaithersburg, announced that it recently recreated a new plan to engage youth in fighting against child hunger.

The plan, called the Youth Engagement Toolkit, offers steps that young people can take to help the 20% of children in the United States who are at risk for going hungry.

According to the executive director of Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation, Shondra Jenkins, many kids around the country are motivated to help such at-risk children in their communities. The Toolkit will also help other nonprofit organizations by providing ideas on how young leaders can be engaged to improve the lives of other youth.

An understanding of what works in engaging youth is provided in the Toolkit, with specific tools for broadening the base of youth support to fight for the end of childhood hunger. In the Toolkit are successful best practices for effectively engaging youth, social media resources and communications templates, and steps that young people can take immediately so that their efforts will make a real impact in the community.

No doubt Sodexo worked with the developers of the Toolkit, SHG Advisors, and a local Print company to create a printed version of the Toolkit that can be distributed to various youth organizations throughout the country.
