Gaithersburg citizens will have the opportunity to enjoy several performances of Frozen Jr. this April. These will take place at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn.
Frozen Jr. is the shortened version of the Disney Broadway musical based on the popular animated film Frozen. Both the musical and film tell a story involving two royal sisters, Princess Anna and Princess Elsa, and the important lessons about love and sisterhood they learn as Elsa seeks to control her dangerous powers.
The musical was first premiered at the Buell Theater in Denver and ran for three months in 2017. A Broadway version, which opened on March 22, 2018, soon followed. It was nominated for several Tony Awards, including Best Musical. It also won a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Puppet Design. In total, this production played for 825 shows and earned a profit of $115m. The West End Production of the musical, which premiered on September 8th, 2021, was nominated for four Laurence Oliver Awards.
The Gaithersburg Arts Barn Frozen Jr. performances will take place from April 2 to April 10 at 11:00 am. There will also be additional Saturday performances at 2:00 pm and Sunday performances at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.
