Residents in Gaithersburg are looking forward to the Ninth Annual Active Aging Expo.
Sponsored by the city of Gaithersburg, the event features demonstrations, seminars, and activities.
The event is focused on maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle even into one’s golden years. As such, local seniors are encouraged to attend, but everyone can get something out of the expo.
The day will be filled with talks about a variety of topics, from diet and exercise, to hobbies and community service. A number of demonstrations on different fitness techniques will also be given, including yoga, as well as low impact walking, stretching, and aerobics.
The expo will also have massage tables, as well as places for manicures, facials, and preventative screenings. A number of local healthcare institutions, as well as nonprofit groups, will also have booths at the event, providing informational Brochures and more to visitors. Guests can also get a caricature of themselves drawn, pick up a temporary tattoo, or get their picture taken at the photo booth.
The Active Aging Expo will be held on May 8 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, located at 506 S. Frederick Ave. Admission is free, but a canned good donation for the Manna Food Center is encouraged. Anyone looking for more info should visit the website.
