Gaithersburg kids to learn and create this fall

The Parks and Recreation Department of Gaithersburg is hosting several entertaining and educational workshops for children in October.

The department will host an autumn workshop for families to enjoy. Parents and children from ages 3-11 are invited to make crafts with a fall theme. Parks and Recreation will supply all the materials needed, and children can go home with both their project and any leftover materials from their personal kit.

As the project will take place outside, participants are advised to dress for the weather, although particularly adverse weather will lead to its cancellation. Masks are required and everyone must practice social distancing. To help with this, each family will sit at a table six feet long.

Registration is $26.25 per child, and one parent or guardian per child can attend free. Every child must be registered to participate. The workshop will take place at Kentlands Green, located at 117 Kent Square Road.

Also, the Study Bubble Club, which is hosted by Gaithersburg Parks and Recreation, is designed to help students excel at virtual learning. It is a safe environment that fits the needs of education while social distancing. Registration is $300 per student and will take place at the Olde Towne Youth Center.

The fall workshop will be on October 18 from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm. The club will meet Monday through Friday from October 5 to October 30 from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
