Gaithersburg festival to celebrate summer
The city of Gaithersburg will be holding its annual SummerFest event this June, aiming to encourage local families to soak up the sun.
The event leads into Independence Day week and features live music from local performers. Attendees can bring their own refreshments or sample food and drink from local food trucks and breweries and take part in family-friendly activities. The evening will conclude in a traditional fireworks display. Afterwards, there will be a SummerGlo After Party to continue the celebration into the night. All the amenities of the Bohrer Park Area will also be open to visitors, including a water park, miniature golf course, skate park, and air-conditioned indoor activity centre.
The summer party has become a staple of Gaithersburg’s events. Last year’s event featured live music by The District as well as performers by jugglers, LED hoopers, and stilt walkers, with a welcome ceremony from the mayor and city council. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the show and the summer atmosphere. Seasonal events like this often use methods like flyer printing and social media to help incorporate the community into the swing of things.
