Working in a garden or other agricultural operation can offer many benefits for people with developmental or intellectual challenges, and this will be the topic of the very first Mid-Atlantic Care Farming Summit on offer near Gaithersburg this October.
The symposium has been planned for those who set up, supervise or are otherwise involved in the day-to-day operation of a care farm, and there will be lots of opportunities for the attendees to network with one another. There will also be a focus on learning, and the goal is for all those who participate to walk away with new ideas for them to take back to their own operation.
While they network and get to know one another, the guests at the event will be able to share best practices, discuss the challenges they face, and brainstorm ways to overcome them. Tickets for Future Harvest CASA members are $30, while the general public will be asked to pay $50.
