Multiple middle school co-ed sports camps in are scheduled for the summer in Gaithersburg.
TAPS for teens includes arts and crafts, games, sports, challenges, electives, and other stimulating activities. It is designed for kids ages 11-14, which is around middle school age, and lasts for half a day. There will also be several field trips outside the camping location such as Bohrer Park's water park to go swimming.
Community service is the theme of TAPS this season. Each day, the volunteering the campers will do counts for their required service learning, or SSL, hours.
Registration is $59 per camper. Check-in each day is from 8:00 am to 8:30 am and the day ends at 1:30 pm. The camp will take place at Lakelands Middle School, 1200 Main Street.
Later in the month, there will be a co-ed volleyball half-day camp for middle school students new to the game. Instructors will teach students how to set, hit, and pass. Scrimmages and drills will give students an idea of what it is like to play with a team.
Students will meet at Gaithersburg High School, 101 Education Boulevard. Each day starts at 9:00 am and ends at noon. Registration is $105 per student. Students in grades 5-8 are eligible to register.
Teen TAPS starts on June 17 and ends on June 19. The volleyball camp starts on June 29 and ends on July 2. Camps often use brochure printing to inform prospective campers about what they offer, dates of the camp, and registration prices.
