Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg to host craft shows

The Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg is hosting two craft events next month.

Over 250 skilled and small business artists are bringing their newest creations to the Spring Sugarloaf Crafts Festival. Each will be crafted by hand and unique, and will work for any gift or decor occasion such as weddings and graduations.

The available pieces include furniture, leather, jewelry, photography, fashion, and decor. Attendees can try different foods, watch demonstrations of artists making items, and interact with the artists. In addition, there will be a free show for children. Reusable Shopping Bags are available at the info desk at no extra charge.

Tickets are $8 when purchased online and $10 on site. Children under 13 attend free. The fairgrounds’ location is at 501 Perry Parkway.

Also, the International Gem and Jewelry Show will take place in Building 6 of the fairgrounds at 16 Chestnut Street. Tickets are $6 online or $8 at the show via cash. Wholesale buyers, teachers, schools and members of the military attend free, but children under the age of 8 are not allowed entry. Parking is available on site.

The hours of the Sugarloaf Crafts Festival are 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on April 17 and 18, and 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on April 19. Hours for the Gem and Jewelry Show are April 24 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, April 25, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, and April 26 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. As with all events at present, it would be wise to keep an eye on these details for possible changes.
