Countys best volunteers to get awards

Volunteers who have gone above and beyond in service to the county will be honored at the upcoming Montgomery Serves Awards.

The goal of the event is to recognize exceptional volunteers and community leaders in Montgomery County for their commitment and dedication. Corporate Gifts and sponsorships are common at this sort of event.

The Volunteer of the Year Award is given to people who have performed outstanding volunteer work in the past year. This award emphasizes how important volunteers are for solving community problems and improving the quality of life for the community.

The Neal Potter Path of Achievement Award is a special recognition for senior citizens who have dedicated their lives to serving others and making a positive difference in the community through volunteer work.

The Inez Zeigler McAbee and William Harvey Zeigler Humanitarian Award is given to people who have displayed a profound dedication toward the betterment of their community.

The Roscoe R. Nix Community Distinguished Service Award is an honor given by County Executive Marc Elrich to people who, through their lifetime achievements, have greatly aided in the community's advancement and welfare at a high level of proficiency.

The Montgomery Serves Awards is scheduled for Tuesday, June 25th at the Rosborough Cultural Arts & Wellness Center in Gaithersburg. It runs from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm.
