Book lovers to meet in Gaithersburg for annual festivities

The sixth annual Gaithersburg Book Festival will be coming to the city later this month.

Located on the grounds of City Hall, the festival will still retain its neighborly atmosphere and feature authors for both young and old alike, book signings, and workshops for adults and children, and attracts a good selection of food trucks.

Anne Enright, a winner of the Booker Prize, will be coming from Ireland to read from ‘The Green Road’, her upcoming novel. Pénélope Bagieu, a graphic novelist, will be making the journey from France to talk about her first book published in the United States, titled ‘Exquisite Corpse’.

Featured authors from the capital area will include James Grady (a writer of thrillers), Elliot Ackerman (a former Marine), and Susan Coll and Mary Kay Zuravleff (novelists known for their witty Books).

There will be workshops for both adults and children. Mary Quattlebaum, a young adult book reviewer for the Post, will lead a class called ‘Connect with Kids! Adults Writing for Children’, while informal classes on poetry, short stories, and picture and pop-up books will be offered to kids.

The Festival will take place on Saturday, May 16 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Most likely, the organizers of the Festival have used various printing services to create Flyers, Brochures about where to stay and what else to do in the area, and programs with listings of the day’s events.
