The Health Department of Foxborough has a new illustrated mascot.
Scout the fox can now be seen throughout town promoting the “Scout out Scout” initiative of the department, which is aimed at encouraging physical activity and healthy habits throughout the summer months.
The initiative was launched at the Boyden Library on Memorial Day weekend and since then has travelled to many locations in Foxborough, including the track at the Ahern Middle School, F. Gilbert Hills State Forest, and the Payson Complex Playground.
Scout moves to a new spot each week with the goal of getting families to explore the area. Scout’s favorite activities are highlighted at each site in addition to safety and health information related to the featured topic of the week. Recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are also provided at each site.
Also, a bingo sheet developed for kids can be picked up at the Library or Town Hall. The sheet features general summer physical activities as well as activities that can be completed at each site. Kids can bring their completed bingo sheets to the Health Department to receive a fun prize.
Local Print shops can help provide more details about such initiatives and what can be done at each location with Flyers, Brochures, Booklets, and other printed materials.
Scout will be moving around town through Monday, September 7.
