Thanksgiving race to be held in Foxborough area

The North Attleborough Annual Leftover Turkey Trot will be taking place in November, and organizers of the event are looking for local organizations and businesses to sponsor it this year.

The proceeds of the event will go towards purchasing a new memorial – a bronze statue relating to the First World War, which will be in Barrows Memorial Park. The goal is to collect $25,000 for the purchase of the statue, and the North Attleborough Veterans of Foreign Wars are collecting the funds. Businesses and organizations in nearby Foxborough may be interested in sponsoring such an event. Poster printing can be used to promote such events and their fundraising efforts.

The Turkey Trot is a 5K race that begins and ends at Noth Attleboro Town Hall on South Washington Street. The course itself starts flat and then traverses rolling hills in a residential area before finishing through the downtown. A T-shirt, race bib, and finisher’s medal will be awarded to the 500 participants who finish first. The top women and men in seven age categories, as well as the top three men and women overall, will receive unique medals.

It will take place from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Sunday, November 29. Participants can check in from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, November 28 or from 9:30 am to 11:00 am on Sunday. The cost to register is $25.
