A concert titled “Think Spring” will be performed by the Sharon Community Chamber Orchestra next month. Residents of nearby Foxborough might be interested in this event.
The orchestra will be performing the “Overture to Der Schulkandidat.” This is a comic opera written by Maria Theresia von Paradis. Attendees at the concert will also listen to the “Violin Concerto in E Minor” by Felix Mendelssohn and “Symphony No. 6 in F Major, the Pastoral” by Ludwig van Beethoven.
Lillian Arnold Mages will be the soloist for the piece by Mendelssohn. She is 17 years old and is a high school student. She has performed as soloist with several orchestras in the area, has participated in international Master Classes, and amassed a long list of highly prized competition awards. Michael Korn is the music director of the orchestra.
The Sharon Cultural Council has made this concert possible with a grant. The Council is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
