Intersection improvements set for Foxborough

The Complete Streets Funding Program of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has awarded the town of Foxborough the amount of $500,000. This funding will be used to support accessibility and safety improvements at the intersection of Cedar, Green, and South Streets.

The intersection will be realigned and replace the existing intersection two offset “T” intersections. There will also be new crosswalks, curb ramps that are ADA compliant, sidewalks, updated pavement markings, and a rectangular flashing beacon. The safety of the intersection will be improved with these upgrades as well as improving access for pedestrians, traffic flow, and connectivity for all users of the roadway.

News of such funding and more details about such projects is often provided with flyer printing.

Chris Gallagher, the director of the Department of Public Works, said that this is an exciting investment in the future transportation network of Foxborough. He added that improvements at this intersection will improve accessibility and safety for cyclists, pedestrians, and drivers.

Paige Duncan, town manager, expressed her gratitude to Gallagher and his team for making the improvements to this intersection a priority and to MassDOT for their support and partnership in funding these improvements that are very much needed.

The project is expected to go out to bid early next year, and construction is planned for the spring.
