New manufacturing facility to come to Devens
Ground has been broken for a new location of Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group in Devens.
Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group is based in the United Kingdom and is planning to build a manufacturing facility in Devens, which will help to expand their presence in the north-eastern US states.
The building is at Red Tail Heights on Bulge Road and covers 150,000 square feet on a piece of property spanning 25.4 acres in size. The space will include offices, warehousing, and eight ISO14644-1 Class 7 cleanrooms. The initial footprint will allow for two more cleanrooms in the future.
Managing Director of Watson-Marlow, Andrew Mines, said that this new US building is a milestone in the history of the company and demonstrates its commitment to serve customers in North and South America. He added that this is an exciting development that will bring the company closer to the customers who serve people around the world.
Over 150 new jobs will be created once the building is completed. Many job openings like these require the need for business card printing services. Manufacturing at the facility will replicate those at the European facilities of Watson-Marlow to ensure the same quality of products for customers.
The building is expected to be completed late next year, with the first products due to be shipped late in the fourth quarter of 2022.
