Michael R. Sweeney has joined MassDevelopment as Executive Vice President of Devens Operations.
Business card printing services are often called upon when such appointments are announced.
Sweeney has over 10 years of experience in real estate, economic development, and community development. Previously, he was chief executive officer of Operation Able, a non-profit organization based in Boston. He has held other leadership roles at Fletcher Tilton, PC; the Massachusetts State Lottery; and the city of Lawrence. He attended the City University of New York Law School where he earned a Juris Doctorate and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in history.
President and CEO of MassDevelopment, Navjeet Bal. said that Devens has become a model for the reuse of a military base and is how home to innovative organizations and companies, a vibrant residential community, and recreational opportunities. He added that Sweeney will bring valuable leadership and experience in the private sector to ensure that Devens remains a welcoming place for those who visit, work, and live in the community.
Sweeny expressed his excitement about joining the team at MassDevelopment. He said that he is looking forward to continuing the tradition of creating a forward-looking and energetic community in Devens and partnering with local officials, members of the community, and public safety officials.
