Manufacturing company builds new headquarters in Tyngsboro
The Mass Crane & Hoist companies has opened a new facility in Tyngsboro to accommodate its increasing operations.
The company provides bridge crane services and new installations for the New England area, and was founded in 1987.
The new facility is 50,000 square feet in area – twice the size of its former locations – and is a pre-engineered metal building. There are manufacturing and office areas, break rooms, and two conference rooms. Companies such as this one often turn to stationery printers when a change of address occurs.
The general contractor for the building was Senate Construction Corp., with Devens Recycling Center providing recycling services for demolition, Power Products Systems, LLC providing the power systems, and NorthStar Construction Services Corp. responsible for the roofing.
Project manager and director of special projects for Senate, Jon Karp, said there are many unique features in the building. Inside there is a grand lobby, two stories in height, with an open staircase made of stainless steel and polished concrete, complete with a mezzanine that overlooks the lower level. Special soundproofing keeps the office quiet and maintains privacy. There are five bridge cranes in the manufacturing space (like those Mass Crane builds and sells), a high-volume ventilation and exhaust system, and a large capacity paint booth.
The front entrance is also distinctive with its two-story glass curtain wall and insulated metal panels of different sizes, shapes, and textures.
