Canton business group to host annual fundraising race

The Canton Association of Business and Industry (CABI) is hosting its 19th annual Canton Road Race this fall.

The event will include a fun run for kids, a 5k race and a 10k race. The races are open to walkers, competitive runners, and everyone in between. Awards will go to the first male and female finisher in each age group, as well as the top three male and female runners in each race. Awards will be presented at 11:30 am during the post-race celebration.

Runners can sign up for the race through Race Roster. The cost is $30 for either the 5k or 10k race, or $25 for students 17 and younger. The cost for the fun run is $10 per child. The fun run will start at 9:30 am, and the other race will begin at 10 am. Organizers of racing events often use printing services to produce race bibs.

All proceeds from the road race are donated to local non-profits and organizations, including the Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children and the Canton Food Pantry. Funds also support scholarships for local high school and technical school students. Over the last 10 years, CABI has donated more than $650,000 in race proceeds.

The Canton Road Race will take place on Sunday, September 24, starting from Trillium Brewery. Registration begins at 8:30 am.
