Nathan Cole of Andover Farm Greens, which began operations in early 2012, said:
“This is a good test market for us - a good middle ground. It’s not the busiest market, but it has really good flow. So we can try things out and see how it goes.”
Farmers’ markets are typically patronized by smaller vendors and hobby farmers and are the type of organizations that would benefit from the work of a good Print company, assisting in banner printing for their stalls, sign printing to promote products and price points, and business card printing to help consumers remember their product line and contact information.
Other new businesses joining the Newton Markets include A Summer Place Farm out of Rehoboth, specializing in root vegetables, eggs, and variety of fresh herbs. Sue Olsen, who runs the business with her family, said:
“We were interested in a winter market and we really like this area. It has a real sense of community, and that’s so nice.”
Apex Orchards of Shelburne Falls and The Warren Farm and Sugarhouse of North Brookfield are other companies involved.
