Special historical events to be held around Andover

The North Andover Historical Society will be hosting several events this month.

Such events can be promoted throughout a community and surrounding towns with poster printing.

The first will be a Witchcraft Tour of North Andover. The event will feature Richard Hite, an expert on witchcraft trials, and Carol Majahad, a recent retiree from the North Andover Historical Society. The pair will lead a tour of locations in North Andover that were involved in the trials. This will take place this Saturday, September 10, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Tickets are $20 with a portion of the proceeds donated to the North Andover Historical Society.

Also, the Ig Nobel Awards Simulcast from Harvard University for 2022 will be broadcast live from the Worden Theater in North Andover. These awards honor research achievements that make people laugh, then think, and they offer a night of appreciation for research that may be funny but also has real outcomes. The show begins at 6:00 pm next Thursday, September 15, and refreshments will be served.

There will be a guided walking tour of the Old Town Center of North Andover where attendees will learn about the transition of the town from a colonial village to a town that became industrialised in the 1800s. This event will take place on Tuesday, September 20 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
