Leader of public works department announced in Andover

Carlos Jaquez has been appointed as the new Director of Public Works for the town of Andover. He is succeeding Chris Cronin, who is retiring from the position.

Jaquez has served as the Deputy Director of Public Works for the town since 2019 and has over 10 years of experience in leadership roles in managing infrastructure initiatives and public works projects. Among his significant contributions to the public are playing a pivotal role in the recovery efforts following the gas explosions in Merrimack Valley in 2018 and working as an engineer for the town of Tewksbury and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

Jaquez is actively involved in professional organizations such as the Essex County Highway Association, the Massachusetts Highway Association, and the American Public Works Association, where he has contributed to advancing best practices in the field of public works.

New appointments and changes like these often call for business card printing services.

Andrew Flanagan, town manager, said that Jaquez has consistently demonstrated his commitment and strategic vision to excellence in operations in his role as the Deputy Director for Andover. Flanagan added that Jaquez has extensive leadership and experience in public work which makes him ideal for the leadership role of the department. He expressed his confidence that Jaquez will uphold the standards set by the department and will be respected and valued in the community.
