Largest road race in Massachusetts to be held in Andover

The 35th annual Feaster Five Road Race will be held later this month in Andover.

The Merrimack Valley Striders running club is the sponsor for the race. The event includes a Kids’ K, a five-mile run, and a 5K. There will be the opportunity for people to run or walk virtually. The pie distribution, which is one of the biggest traditions of the event, will take place from 8:00 am to noon.

Registration is $10 for those participating in the Kids’ K, $35 for children under the age of 12 who will be running the 5K, and $45 for adults. The first 5,000 registrants will be given a T-shirt. Each participant will also receive a Kids’ K custom short sleeve technical shirt and a commemorative medal. Organizers of such events often turn to a graphic design team to create the logos for such shirts and medals.

Proceeds from the event will support four charities in the area—the Merrimack Valley Striders Scholarship Fund, Groundwork Lawrence, Inc., Bellesini Academy, and The Merrimack Valley YMCA.

This race is considered to be the largest road race that takes place on Thanksgiving Day in Massachusetts. Registration and number pickup will begin at 7:00 am at Bill DeLuca Chevrolet on N. Main Street, the Kids’ K will begin at 7:45 am, and the 5K and five-mile walk will begin at 8:30 am at the Track at Balmoral Street.
