Flea markets and fairs come to Haverhill

Several events are planned for the Haverhill area in the upcoming weeks, and most likely the respective organizations are using poster printing and other printing services to let those in the community, including nearby Andover, become aware of these events and make plans to attend them. The first flea market fundraising event will be held this Saturday and Sunday by the members of the Soroptimist International of Haverhill/Merrimack Valley. It will take place at the American Legion Farm Field, regardless of the weather. There will also be food and refreshments available for purchase throughout the event. The Soroptimist is a volunteer organization dedicated to improving the lives of girls and women all over the world through education and programs that help with social and economic empowerment. Also, the 200th anniversary of the Duncan House is being celebrated throughout the year by the Buttonwoods Museum with special Duncan Day events. On May 22, there will be a tea and tour for seniors in the morning. There will be finger sandwiches, dessert, and 19th Century-style tea. Lastly, there will be a crafts fair and yard sale at the Haverhill Firefighting Museum on May 31. The museum has an expansive collection on the history and evolution of firefighting in New England, and the yard sale will act as fundraiser for it.
