City and state officials tour Merrimack Valley in support of local businesses

Sweet Mimi’s Chocolates in Andover, offering a wide selection of gummies, candies, and chocolate covered treats, was recently visited by Governor Charlie Baker and other officials for the ‘Open for Business’ small business tour in the Merrimack Valley.

Baker was joined by Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito; Andrew Maylor, Town Manager of North Andover; Daniel Rivera, Mayor of Lawrence; and Andrew Flanagan, Town Manager of Andover. Their visit was a day of celebration in the area and demonstration of continuous support following the gas disasters that had taken place in September, forcing many businesses to close.

Baker said that the day was to show support for the businesses whose services were disrupted by the event in September, see how they are doing now, feature them, and to remind people they are open. Various Promotional Products can also be used to advertise such businesses on special days such as this one.

Flanagan commented that this was a day to celebrate Andover’s downtown and to prove to the town that there will be an “ongoing commitment to our business community and local economy.” He thanked the governor and lieutenant governor for their leadership and added they will always be a part of the recovery efforts, which will be ongoing as the town moves forward.
