Arts and humanities grants available in Andover

Residents of Andover can apply for grants for projects in humanities, arts, and interpretive sciences.

These grants are available through the Andover Cultural Council which promotes and funds cultural programs to enhance the quality of life in the town. The Council is part of the network of the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) which consists of over 300 local councils. The state legislature funds the MCC each year which then allocates the funds to the local communities. This year, the Andover Cultural Council has been awarded $12,800, which is an increase over last year’s allocation.

Proposals for projects should focus on diversity and inclusion and the broadening cultural base of the town. The Council will be looking for proposals that address cultural change and reach all sectors of the population in the town. Proposals will also be accepted that are flexible in their method of presentation. More details about such grants and their application process can be provided with brochure printing.

Chair of the Andover Cultural Council, Leslie Seaton Malis, expressed her happiness about the increase of funding to the town, saying it will mean a greater number and range of activities and events can be funded to serve more residents of Andover.

Grant applications are due to the Council by next Monday, October 17 at 11:59 pm.
