Dr. Claudia Bach will no doubt be updating her Business Cards when she becomes the interim superintendent of the Andover Public Schools this month.
Dr. Bach was the superintendent of the school district from 1998 to 2010 and has served the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) as the Director of Education Policy, Preparation and Leadership.
Shannon Scully, chairperson of the School Committee, expressed her pleasure that Dr. Bach is devoted to the community of Andover, committed to educators and students, and willing to serve the district at this time. Scully added that it is hoped she will be able to bring stability back to the district even though her position is temporary.
Dr. Bach said she is honored to have been appointed for this position by the School Committee. Her plans are to ensure that students will be safe and healthy and to support teachers with the best instructional activities. She also plans to reach out to the community so they can let her know of their suggestions and concerns. She said she is ready to work to find out what has been done well and what improvements can be made.
Dr. Bach will serve as interim superintendent until June of this year. At that time, it is expected that the School Committee will have appointed a permanent superintendent.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
