Several pumpkin patches and farms have been opened for the fall season in the Andover area.
Poster printing is often used to promote such farms and inform those in the surrounding communities of their many activities and products.
Smolak Farm in North Andover is open daily, offering pick-your-own apples, animals, hayrides, and walking tours. The walking tour include a cider donut for each guest, a guided tour of the farm, and the chance to feed the animals. Each weekend throughout the month, the farm hosts Fun Fall Weekends with a different theme for the hayride and the arts and crafts activity every weekend. The farm stand has homemade meals to go and ice-cream and bakery specials from Wednesday to Sunday.
The farm is opened from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm with weekend hours for the Fun Fall Weekends from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Boston Hill Farm in North Andover currently has apple picking, with red delicious, Paula red, ginger gold, and Macoun among its apple choices. Pumpkins can also be selected from the pumpkin field. The farm also holds festivals every weekend throughout the month featuring a petting zoo, live music from Ronnie Chase and Russ Bennett, barbecue, ice cream, and many other activities.
Boston Hill Farm is open every day from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm with school and group tours available during the weekdays.
