Andover community to come together for building homes

Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity and Lowe’s will be partnering next month by hosting Women Build Days in Andover during National Women Build Week.

Events such as this one and their humanitarian efforts are often promoted throughout a community with poster printing.

Those in the community who are interested in providing safe and affordable housing can join the organization’s 35th anniversary and spend a day building homes along with other interested men and women in the community. Women Build Days provide an opportunity for all women and men to come together and learn construction skills and then employ those skills in building homes for those who will be living in them.

No experience in construction is needed for those who want to participate. Professionals in the construction industry guide volunteers and those who will be living in the homes in the skills and tools required for building. The goal of Women Build Days is not only to help make an impact in the community, but to enable women and men to make new friends and work together in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Sponsors of the event in addition to Lowe’s are Schneider Electric and New Balance.

Women Build Days will take place from Wednesday, March 4 to Friday, March 6 at 8 Lupine Road in Andover from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm each day.
