It was recently announced that the very first Kentucky location for the Florida-based grocery chain will be here in Louisville at 2500 Terra Crossing Blvd. The location and the new store’s opening date, January 10, 2024, were shared by Publix on social media.
Grocery stores maintain a close relationship with Print shops, depending on them for banner and flyer printing as well as signage.
Publix’s post on the platform formerly known as twitter and now renamed X elicited at least one reply to the news with a request for the grocery chain to expand into Texas. A reply from the store’s official account stated:
"We hope to make it closer to you some day!"
Until then, the company indicated that it had, in addition to the before mentioned Louisville store, plans to open another Alabama store and another Virginia store by the end of the year. Publix also has plans for four more stores in the Bluegrass State, two of which will also be in Louisville.
Headquartered in Lakeland, Florida, Publix was founded in 1930 and is a private corporation wholly owned by family members of its founder, George W. Jenkins and present and past employees. At present Publix operates over 1,380 stores across the Southeast.
