Ground broken for new rehab hospital

In Brownsboro, Kindred Healthcare and UofL Health recently broke ground on the new Frazier Rehabilitation Hospital – Brownsboro.

Earlier in 2021, the two organizations stated that they were jointly going to build and operate a new 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility to address the increasing rehabilitation needs in the eastern part of Jefferson County and neighboring counties. The new hospital falls within the Louisville metropolitan area and is only 18 miles from the city itself.

Construction sites frequently use banner printing services to inform the public of what plans are in the works.

Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman stressed that the facility represents an opportunity to meet the area’s inpatient rehabilitation needs, and that it will create almost 150 jobs as part of a $21m investment.

The hospital is being constructed at 5000 Chamberlain Lane and will be about 55,000 square feet spread over two floors, with all rooms being private ones. Acute rehabilitation for patients dealing with traumatic brain injury, stroke, amputees, complex orthopedic conditions, neurological disorders, and other injuries and disorders will be provided.

A transitional living apartment designed to prepare patients for functioning in a residential apartment will be available to ensure everyday tasks can be accomplished by patients before they are discharged.

Inpatient rehabilitation services will be available at this state-of-the-art facility, starting in the first quarter of 2023 barring any regulatory or permit delays.
