Finalists for Kentucky’s 2023 Mr. and Miss Basketball awards were recently announced by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches and the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation. Among the 20 boys and 18 girls named, four were Louisville players.
Finalists from Louisville were Keith Robinson from Pleasure Ridge Park and Gabe Sisk from Ballard for Mr. Basketball, as well as Haley Dillman of Bullitt Central and JaKayla Thompson of Manual for Miss Basketball.

Robinson, named Player of the Year for the Sixth Region, is a 6-foot-4 forward who averages 6.3 rebounds and 18.9 points per game. Sisk, Player of the Year for the Seventh Region, stands 6-foot-6 and averages 9.3 rebounds and 23.4 points.
Dillman, Sixth Region Player of the Year, is a 5-foot-10 guard/forward who averages 6.0 rebounds and 15.5 points per game. She recently hit the 2,000 points milestone in her career. Her fellow Louisville Miss Basketball finalist, JaKayla Thompson, is a 5-foot-8 guard/forward with stats of 5.8 rebounds and 15.2 points per game. Thompson is a Player of the Year for the Seventh Region and has been signed by the University of Buffalo.
Members of the media and coaches from throughout the state will take part in the voting to determine who will be Mr. and Miss Basketball.
Winners will be announced on March 19 at a special ceremony held in Lexington.
