Tough Mudder to test Louisville folks mettle
A 10-to-12-mile obstacle course is getting set to challenge participants from throughout Kentucky, including hundreds from Louisville.
A date has been set for this year’s Tough Mudder event. The courses have had over 1.5 million participants over the past few years and are expecting 600,000 this year in various regions. Obstacle courses have been updated and changed for the upcoming 2015 events.
Teamwork, stamina, and strength will be required to meet the test of the unique obstacle courses at Tough Mudder. A new addition this year is the Beached Whale, a 12-foot tall inflatable structure that is 18 feet deep and 30 feet wide. To master the Beached Whale, Mudders will have to form a human pyramid to get to the other side.
The King of the Swingers is another new addition to the lineup of obstacles for the 2015 events. Mudders will have to leap off of a ledge and reach for a rope to swing above a muddy pit of water. The Mudders have a goal of reaching for a hanging bell while holding on and dangling.
Event organizers will often partner with local print companies to produce needed supplies such as banner printing, both for promotion and direction.
The Kentucky Tough Mudder will take place June 27-28. More information can be found on the Tough Mudder event website, as well as registration details.
