Ford to invest eight-figure sum in Louisville truck plant
In Louisville, the Ford Motor Co. plans to boost production at its Kentucky Truck Plant (KTP) by adding new jobs and making a $60m investment.
Companies increasing their workforce provide multiple opportunities for printing services.
Recently, Ford has been affected by a September fire at the New York Novelis plant that supplied the company with aluminum for its vehicle production. Accoding to USA Today, the company is keen to make up its F-Series truck production volume losses, including that of the Super Duty, which is made here in Louisville at KTP.
According to Ford CEO Jim Farley, the company is working with Novelis and others to acquire enough aluminum to keep production moving and make up for any prolonged impacts. On October 23, the automaker reported that it anticipates a negative impact on its 2025 and 2026 combined total financial outlooks of up to $1bn due to the fire.
The Novelis fire resulted in KTP temporarily halting production of the Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition SUVs earlier in October. The plan is for the Louisville facility to increase production in 2026 by over 50,000 trucks to make up for the 2025 decrease in production. To achieve this, Ford will be increasing KTP’s workforce by 100 employees to work on the Super Duty.
The $60m Ford is investing in its KTP plant will be used for employee training for new hires, with an aim of ramping up the plant’s assembly line speed.
